To continue and amend an act passed last session of parliament, entitled, an act for the suppression of the rebellion which still unhappily exists within this kingdom, and for the protection of the persons and properties of his majesty's faithful subjects within the same, provided that noting in this act shall extend or be construed to extend to or have operation in any county in this kingdom, unless the majority of the magistrates of the said county assembled at a special sessions shall by memorial to the Lord lieutenant or other chief governor for the time being, prayed that the martial law may be extended to said county under said act. Provided that no person or persons shall be subject to any of the provisions of this act or subject to be tried under this law for any crime or crimes charged to be committed previous to the first day of February last.
